Paint the town red, your nightie is now a fashion statement piece. With Les Rebelles Squad and LILMISSBIANCA, I take on the most epidemic trend of the year. #GIRLSQUADDINGPart2

TALK ABOUT RAMPANT. Over the past few months, streets and runways alike have proved nightwear has already broken loose out of the bedroom — not only to the shops or to walk the dog, but to fashion week, no less. We're not just speaking of PJ's by day; an assortment of slip dresses, slinky camisoles, and silk pieces have been celeb-vetted and achieved sell-out status last season at warp speed.

Bless the day sartorial geniuses, Jonathan Saunders and Alexander Wang amongst others, refreshed the nighttime classics. The craze - rather sorry to say - isn't an excuse for undone hair and lax footwear; ironically, it does not exactly imply 'no fuss'.

The trick, however, boils down to a single direction: mix and layer up until the number reaches smart casual aesthetic; actually, forgo flats and accessorize wisely. The most prevalent it seems is wearing the lingerie-inspired garment over a shirt — as seen on me (left) with a chiffon slip dress atop a striped turtleneck, and on Bianca (center) layering a form-fitting silk nightgown over a structured tee. Meanwhile, Pooja (right) opted for a more sensual look tastefully done with a red draped silk mini taking center stage.

We're all for the swelled up sex appeal; but if you were to ask me, lingerie-style dressing beyond the boudoir will only be a passing fancy.
