This Fall/Winter, Le Paper Doll partners up with Garage Clothing for a special campaign and a twenty-day giveaway called '20 Days of Gifts.'

"The case upon us now is how do we appropriately — and stylishly — keep up with the ineludible drop in temperature without getting a serious case of all-season closet-rut-induced lazy dressing."

Anyone who has lived in the Middle East for a reasonable length of time would agree that bidding the Arabian summer season goodbye comprises of an incomprehensible mix of emotions. For once, it means taking leave of the scorching heat for the more bearable, pleasantly warm months while leaving the travel and festival season behind at the same time. I figured, it also means lengthier darker hours and many days stuck in a [closet] rut.

The case upon us now is how do we appropriately — and stylishly — keep up with the ineludible drop in temperature without getting a serious case of all-season closet-rut-induced lazy dressing. My back-to-school days may be over (yeah yeah, I know), but there is always something about this time of the year that calls for an excuse to freshen up the old closet situation. After all, no season feels more like a fresh start than fall.

But before we go crazy and impulsively buy all the trendy pieces in the stores, which is very likely to happen to be honest, we must always keep in mind that the smartest upgrade comes in the form of refreshing your basics in favor of new staples. In that spirit, I have identified the top five transitional staples to store your closets with.

1. Light sweaters
A bevy of lightweight sweaters is a must-have, especially when you live in a MidEastern city where fall and winter only come down to a sweet 50-degree weather. Layer them up or throw them on effortlessly — your pick.

2. Ponchos
Easy to throw on. Cozy as a blanket. Stylish. Ponchos are hands down the perfect piece for the lazy colder days.

3. The classic plaid shirt
Plaid shirts are a perennial fall wardrobe staple that make layering easy. Wear it open or buttoned up, tied around the waist, mixed with other prints, this tartan print is so versatile that it can be styled in a million different ways.

4. Denim
Denim, because you can never go wrong with denim and no one ever questions denim.

5. Chic headwear
May it be a beanie, a turban, a dramatic floppy hat or whatever it may be, a chic headwear will save you from bad hair days and cases of dull outfits.
