Bloggers Talk: New Year's ResolutionJanuary 7, 2015
As the New Year approaches, we are all contemplating clean slates, fresh starts and new beginnings. It's that time of year again when many of us vow to do a whole host of things that - well, as ironic as it sounds - most of us will not follow through on. Eat healthier. Drink less. More exercise. Less shopping. Get organized and put life in order. HA HA HA, good luck on that.
Kidding aside, it is perfectly normal for the initial motivation to gradually dwindle throughout the next 300+ days, but that's not a reason enough to completely ditch your New Year goals. Studies show that the secret to achieving a New Year's resolution is making only one and focusing on it. Channeling your energy into changing only one aspect of your life promises greater success. Break this one resolution down into smaller (specific, measurable and time-based) goals. Put your plan into action, take tiny steps, don't expect a miracle. If you're trying to get fit, it's not enough to just stare at Candice Swanepoel's photo and mentally photoshop your head onto her body (I do that sometimes though, lol). Remember, the power of intention. The Power of Intention.* This way, fulfilling your resolution won't feel like a mountain to climb.
